Formula and method

FV = P(1+r)^n + C[(1+r)^n − 1] ÷ r

r is the monthly rate and C is the contribution made at each month end. When r is zero, contributions simply sum to C × n.

Worked example

Starting balance: 100000, Monthly contribution: 10000, Assumed annual return (%): 7, Years: 20. The result is 5,613,140.48315339 (projected ending balance).
